abstract = {With the increasing demands of modern lifestyles, pet owners frequently face the challenge of consistently monitoring their dogs' well-being while away from home. This paper presents a survey of recent advancements in wearable IoT technology designed to bridge this gap, focusing on how integrated systems make it easier for busy owners to safeguard their pets. We categorize the existing research into three essential pillars: Health (physiological monitoring), Safety (real-time tracking), and Behavior (activity recognition). The survey explores the fundamental hardware architecture, including the use of GPS for geofencing, accelerometers for movement analysis, and biometric sensors for vital sign tracking. Furthermore, we examine the transition from basic threshold-based alerts—such as high-temperature notifications—to intermediate machine learning techniques like Random Forest and Decision Trees for automated behavior classification. By synthesizing data from current literature, this paper highlights how the synergy between affordable hardware and intelligent software provides a practical, non-invasive solution for holistic pet management. Our findings suggest that these technologies not only reduce owner anxiety but also promote early intervention for health issues, ultimately enhancing the quality of life for domestic dogs.},
