abstract = {The rapid increase in vehicular traffic has created significant challenges in urban and semi-urban areas, leading to congestion, delays, and increased fuel consumption. Traditional traffic signal systems operate on fixed timing mechanisms that fail to adapt to real-time traffic conditions, resulting in inefficient traffic flow. This paper presents an Adaptive Portable Traffic Light Management System, which dynamically adjusts signal timing based on real-time traffic density using sensors and microcontroller-based control.
The proposed system integrates IR/ultrasonic sensors, embedded controllers, and wireless communication modules to detect traffic conditions and allocate signal priority accordingly. The portability feature makes it suitable for temporary installations such as construction zones, accident areas, and public events. The system also supports renewable energy sources like solar power, ensuring energy efficiency and sustainability.
Experimental analysis demonstrates a significant reduction in waiting time, improved traffic flow, and enhanced safety. The system provides a cost-effective, flexible, and scalable solution for modern traffic management challenges.},
