abstract = {Wastewater treatment is essential for environmental sustainability, and phytoremediation has emerged as an eco-friendly and cost-effective approach. Phytoremediation utilizes plants to absorb, accumulate, and detoxify pollutants from wastewater, including heavy metals, Organic contaminants, and nutrients. This study explores the potential of various aquatic and terrestrial plant species, such as eichhornia crassipes (water hyacinth), typha latifolia (cattail), and Phragmites australis (common reed), in treating wastewater. The mechanism of pollutant removal involves phytoextraction, rhizofiltration, phytodegradation, and phytostabilization. Results indicate that phytoremediation significantly reduces pollutant Levels, enhances oxygenation, and improves water quality. While phytoremediation is a Sustainable alternative to conventional treatment methods, challenges such as plant selection, Pollutant-specific efficiency, and maintenance need further research. This study highlights the potential of phytoremediation as a green solution for wastewater treatment, promoting ecological balance and resource recovery.},
