  • Abstract:
  • Artificial Intelligence (AI) has emerged as a transformative force in drug discovery, revolutionizing the biopharmaceutical industry's approach to developing novel therapeutics. AI offers innovative solutions to complex challenges in the pharmaceutical industry, addressing the expensive, time-consuming, and high-failure-rate nature of traditional drug development. The integration of AI across various stages of the drug discovery pipeline, from target identification to clinical trial design, has led to significant improvements in efficiency and accuracy. Interestingly, while AI has shown great promise, its adoption in the pharmaceutical industry faces challenges such as data quality and availability issues, regulatory concerns, and ethical considerations. Additionally, some countries, like Ukraine, lag behind in AI utilization in pharmaceuticals, highlighting potential gaps in research funding, industry investment, or academic expertise. In conclusion, AI's applications in drug discovery span from virtual drug design and molecule synthesis to advanced research and decision-making processes. Machine learning algorithms play a crucial role in analyzing vast datasets to predict important aspects of potential drug candidates, including pharmacokinetic properties and toxicity. Despite challenges, the continued investment and exploration of AI in the pharmaceutical industry offer exciting prospects for enhancing drug development processes, reducing costs, and improving patient care.
