The Indian mutual fund industry is expected to reach Rs. 100 lakh crores by 2030. This growth is driven by key factors like economic growth, growing equity inflows, increasing retail investor participation, and the increasing popularity of Systematic Investment Plans (SIPs).
At the same time the increasing awareness regarding climate change and other growing environmental concerns, investing in green energy has rapidly growing as a way to align individual financial goals with responsibility towards our nature. Green mutual funds offer you the opportunity to invest in companies that are leading the renewable energy revolution. Green mutual funds, focusing on environmental and sustainable investments, have been available in India and growing in recent years.
The present research is an attempt to study comparative performance of green mutual funds and traditional mutual funds available in India. The main objective of this study is to know about green mutual fund and top 5 mutual funds of India and its functioning. This helps to know in details about mutual fund its growth and future prospects. It also helps in understanding difference between these 2 different sets of mutual funds and its working. The study was done to analyse the returns associated with the 2 set of mutual funds. For the purpose of study top 5 green mutual fund and top 5 conventional mutual funds were considered. Information is collected through secondary data, and based on mutual funds return, risk, Sharpe ratio and alpha results are analysed.},
