abstract = {Offline shopping continues to play a crucial role in the Indian retail ecosystem despite the rapid expansion of digital commerce and online marketplaces. A significant portion of consumers still prefer visiting physical markets because it allows them to inspect products directly, compare alternatives, negotiate prices, and experience immediate product ownership. However, the process of offline shopping is not always convenient. Consumers often encounter various challenges such as time constraints, physical fatigue, overcrowded markets, and limited knowledge about product availability or price variations across stores. These challenges are particularly prominent among working professionals, senior citizens, and individuals with mobility constraints.
This research study explores the feasibility and relevance of introducing a human-assisted offline shopping support service designed to improve convenience, reduce consumer effort, and enhance the overall shopping experience. The study adopts a survey-based quantitative approach to understand consumer behaviour, identify common shopping difficulties, and evaluate consumer willingness to adopt such services. Additionally, the research investigates whether this model can generate employment opportunities for semi-skilled individuals within urban economies.
The findings of the study aim to contribute to the understanding of evolving consumer expectations in modern retail environments. The research also evaluates the practicality of developing a structured platform-based shopper assistance service that can bridge the gap between consumer needs and traditional retail experiences in urban Indian markets.},
