  • Abstract:
  • Due to their natural composition and medicinal potential, the usage of herbal medicines has been growing worldwide. The significance of medicinal plants, as well as their identification, authentication, extraction, and analysis, are the main topics of this review. A number of methods for extracting bioactive chemicals from plant sources have been thoroughly explained. These methods include Soxhlet extraction, maceration, and percolation, as well as more recent methods like microwave and ultrasonic-assisted extraction. To guarantee the effectiveness, safety, and purity of herbal remedies, verification is crucial. This can be accomplished by using a variety of methods, such as DNA markers. It has been explained how chromatographic methods are used to separate and identify bioactive substances. The study comes to the conclusion that current authentication methods and standards are crucial.
