abstract = {Women’s safety in urban areas continues to be a major concern, especially in fast-developing towns like Bardoli. This study focuses on improving women’s security by proposing a planning-based approach centered around the development of a Pink Police Station. It looks into current safety issues, unsafe locations, and social challenges that limit women’s movement and use of public spaces.
Both qualitative and quantitative methods are used in the study, such as field surveys, public perception analysis, and identification of crime-prone areas. The research highlights the importance of gender-sensitive policing, proper accessibility, visibility, and active community involvement in creating a safer environment. It also suggests planning measures like selecting suitable locations, improving infrastructure, adding surveillance systems, enhancing connectivity, and conducting awareness programs.
The proposal underlines the role of women-focused police services in building trust among citizens, encouraging crime reporting, and supporting victims. It also stresses the need for coordination between planners, police authorities, and the local community.
Overall, the study shows that proper planning and design of a Pink Police Station, along with supportive policies, can improve women’s sense of safety and strengthen urban security. It also provides a model that can be applied in other similar towns.},
