  • Abstract:
  • The rapid increase in patient demand and hospital workload has made manual appointment scheduling inefficient and time-consuming. Many small and medium healthcare centers still rely on traditional booking methods, which often result in scheduling conflicts, longer waiting times, and increased administrative effort. To address these challenges, this paper presents the design and development of a web-based Doctor Appointment Booking System using the MERN stack, which includes MongoDB, Express.js, React.js, and Node.js. The proposed system allows patients to register, search for doctors based on specialization, view available time slots, and book or cancel appointments through a user-friendly interface. Doctors can manage their schedules, monitor appointments, and update availability dynamically. Secure authentication and authorization mechanisms are implemented to ensure data privacy and controlled access. The system follows a structured backend design to enable smooth communication between client and server, while providing scalable data storage. The developed solution reduces administrative workload, minimizes scheduling errors, and improves the overall efficiency of healthcare services.
