        abstract = {Arts are a vital expression of human creativity, culture, and social values, varying across communities and traditions. Tribal art forms play a significant role in preserving indigenous knowledge, beliefs, and rituals through dance, music, and handicrafts. In Wayanad district, tribal communities practice unique art forms such as Gadhika, Kaanipattu, Malankoothu, and Mudiyattam. These art forms and handicrafts reflect cultural identity and are traditionally passed down through generations. Despite their richness, tribal crafts often lack recognition and struggle to reach wider markets. Wayanad has the largest tribal population in the state, with diverse cultural and craft traditions. However, these communities remain socio-economically backward and their skills are undervalued. Tribal crafts have strong potential for economic development through commercialization and tourism. The efficiency of manufacturers plays a crucial role in promoting and sustaining these crafts. However, there is limited understanding of how effectively manufacturers support tribal artisans. Challenges include poor infrastructure, lack of training, and weak market linkages. Exploitation by intermediaries and lack of institutional support further worsen the situation. These issues affect production quality, market access, and preservation of authenticity. This study aims to evaluate the efficiency of manufacturers in Wayanad’s tribal craft sector. It also seeks to suggest strategies for sustainable commercialization and improving artisans’ livelihoods.},
