  • Abstract:
  • India has seen the development of the gold loan industry as an essential component of the Indian financial system, where the cultural value of gold coupled with the growth of the need in short-term credit has facilitated the need to institute secured lending short-term credit demanded by individuals within the economy. This paper will have a comparative analysis of the gold loan services offered by Muthoot Finance Ltd and Manappuram Finance Ltd in Nagpur city. The concept theoretical framework behind the research is the secured lending, financial intermediation and consumer choice behavior. It discusses the role that institutional differences in interest rate structure, loan processing procedure and service delivery have in affecting borrower choice. By combining a theoretical outlook and applying it to practical observations, the work finds that differences it has on operational efficiency and strategic outlook are important determiners of customer satisfaction and market positioning. The results add to a more comprehensive picture of the functioning of non-banking financial companies in the context of localized credit market and reacting to changing financial requirements.
