abstract = {Natural and hybrid fiber reinforced polymer (FRP) composites are emerging as viable alternatives to conventional synthetic FRPs for strengthening and retrofitting reinforced concrete (RC) structures. This paper presents a comprehensive review of experimental and analytical studies on the use of natural fibers such as sisal, jute, flax, and hemp, as well as hybrid systems combining natural and synthetic fibers. The results indicate significant enhancement in structural performance, including increased flexural and shear strength, improved load-carrying capacity, enhanced ductility, and effective crack control. Key influencing parameters include fibre surface treatment, fibre volume fraction, number of layers, and strengthening configurations such as U-wrap and full wrap. Hybrid composites demonstrate improved interfacial bonding and mechanical efficiency, achieving performance comparable to CFRP and GFRP systems. However, issues related to long-term durability, environmental degradation, and absence of standardized design guidelines limit practical implementation. Further research is required to optimize material properties and establish design frameworks for large-scale applications.},
