        abstract = {The research examines the integration of denim with traditional Indian hand embroidery techniques in couture Garment Design. While Denim has evolved beyond workwear into a versatile Fashion Fabric, its use in detailed hand embroidery remains limited. The study analyzes denim’s structural properties such as stiffness, durability, and suitability for embroidery techniques like Kantha, Kasuti, Kutch, Kashida, and Phulkari. Using an ethnographic approach alongside fabric testing methods (GSM, thickness, tearing strength, and color fastness), couture ensembles were developed that combine traditional craftsmanship with contemporary aesthetics. Findings show that denim can effectively support intricate embroidery without compromising durability when appropriate methods are used. The research highlights denim’s potential in high-fashion applications while promoting sustainability, cultural preservation, and innovation through the revival of traditional Indian embroidery techniques.},
