  • The evolution of Artificial Intelligence (AI) is moving toward systems that are not only intelligent but also capable of independent decision-making and action execution. Agentic Artificial Intelligence (Agentic AI) introduces a framework in which systems operate with goal-directed behavior, integrating reasoning, planning, and interaction with external environments. Autonomous agents, as a practical realization of this concept, are designed to perform tasks with minimal human supervision. This paper presents a detailed study of agentic AI and autonomous agents, focusing on their architecture, operational mechanisms, classifications, and applications. Additionally, it examines current limitations and outlines future research opportunities in building reliable and scalable intelligent systems.
