  • Abstract:
  • As alumni relations become increasingly important in higher education, many colleges are developing digital platforms to increase their alumni engagement; however, most traditional methods used for managing alumni are inefficient (i.e., fragmented communication, limited networking opportunity, and poor records management). Thus, the purpose of this study is to develop a centralized web-based Alumni Management and Engagement System – Alum Connect (Alum) to provide opportunities for better structured interaction between alumni, students and institutional administrators. Alum will assist in communicating and storing large amounts of data related to alumni and providing access to mentorship, event participation, and career networking through one integrated digital space. The pilot test of the platform showed that the system successfully managed all information related to alumni, provided new opportunities for networking, and assisted with career development activities. Results indicate that the platform is easy to use, helped to keep alumni engaged and improved alumni/institutional relationship.
