  • Abstract:
  • Scientific writing though Bharatiya Languages, Sanskrit in particular, has a long history dating back to ancient period. However, due to the downfall of the Gurukula Tradition, Sanskrit has been largely out of use within the scientific academia. To revive the scientific discourse and analyze it through both modern and ancient perspectives, we need to initiate composing essays of scientific nature in Sanskrit. However, Sanskrit being very grammatically sophisticated has its own unique style to express certain thoughts and expressions in spoken languages sometimes can’t be replicated in the very same way though Sanskrit. So, a thorough language planning is required to first define the concepts and then to represent them, first in writing and subsequently through communicating orally, which will redefine writing and speaking science in Bharatiya languages.
