In the past, booking an appointment involved calling or making a face-to-face visit, and inevitably led to communication problems, lost time and unnecessary delays.
The smart booking systems can help to book, reschedule or cancel in just a few clicks and a few seconds these days. Using the cloud computing, mobile apps and some pretty neat scheduling algorithms, appointments are faster and easier to set, for everyone.
As automation grows, so will the chances of it improving how things work for people, but it's not easy. All kinds of systems are built that are quick and have features – and no one expects to get a straight road and light! Users may find themselves in double booking situations, missing up-to-date information, and not grasping the real-world scheduling process.
In this paper, existing appointment booking system are analyzed, the technical background of these systems are reviewed and their limitations are pointed out. There is a great need for systems that operate efficiently, and are reliable and easy to use by anyone.
