abstract = {The Strategic Human Resource Development (SHRD) is a framework that is required in organizations that are aiming at aligning their workforce capabilities with the organization strategic long term business objectives. A proper Performance Management System (PMS) is considered the core of SHRD as it is not only the evaluation of the performance in the past that leads to the following growth and development. The present research paper examines the issue of performance management to develop strategic HRD in the case study of Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), the largest multinational Indian IT corporation. The paper examines how TCS shifted to a more recent and continual feedback system called Feedback to Feedforward as opposed to the ancient system of appraisal. It examines the ways TCS uses own digital products such as TCS Chroma™ to combine performance management and employee upskilling, goal alignment, and developing careers. The results show that TCS has managed to use its PMS as a strategic tool to facilitate a culture of lifelong learning, transparency, and agile responsiveness that will keep its enormous workforce on track with the strategic changes of the company. The paper has concluded that integrated, technology-based performance management system is a vital facilitator of SHRD that plays a major role in organizational agility and sustained competitive advantage.},
