Iot-Based Multi-Disaster Monitoring And Early Warning System For Flood, Landslide, And Earthquake Detection

  • Natural disasters such as floods, landslides, and earthquakes create major threats to human life, infrastructure, and environmental safety. Traditional disaster monitoring systems are often unable to provide immediate warnings because of delayed communication and lack of continuous monitoring facilities. This paper presents an Internet of Things (IoT)-based multi-disaster monitoring and early warning system capable of detecting flood, landslide, and earthquake conditions in real time. The proposed system uses ultrasonic sensors for water level monitoring, soil moisture sensors for landslide prediction, and vibration sensors with accelerometers for earthquake detection. All sensor data are processed using an ESP8266 microcontroller and transmitted to a cloud platform through wireless communication. Whenever abnormal environmental conditions are detected, alert notifications are sent instantly to users through mobile applications and warning devices. Experimental analysis shows that the system achieves high detection accuracy with low response time, making it suitable for smart disaster management applications in vulnerable regions. The proposed framework provides a low-cost, scalable, and reliable solution for improving public safety and disaster preparedness.
