abstract = {This paper presents the design and development of an intelligent, gesture-controlled robotic arm that replaces traditional controllers with intuitive human–machine interaction. By leveraging computer vision techniques, the developed system captures real-time hand movements using a camera and processes them using OpenCV and MediaPipe. The detected gestures are mapped to corresponding commands for a microcontroller-driven robotic arm, which utilizes servo motors to perform actions such as gripping, lifting, and rotation.
The integration of Python-based vision processing with embedded control systems establishes a seamless interface between human intention and robotic execution. The proposed approach emphasizes contactless operation, enhancing safety and accessibility in various applications. With a modular and scalable design, the system has potential applications in medical rehabilitation, hazardous environment handling, and industrial automation.
The system has been successfully designed, implemented, and tested for real-time gesture-based control. Experimental results demonstrate high accuracy and low latency performance.},
