Advances Arduino Based Product ID Scanning Conveyor Belt System

  • Industrial automation plays an important role in improving productivity, accuracy, and efficiency in modern manufacturing and warehouse systems. Conventional conveyor belt systems rely on manual inspection and product handling, which increases human effort and causes operational errors. To overcome these limitations, this project presents an Advanced Arduino-Based Product ID Scanning Conveyor Belt System for automatic product identification and sorting. The proposed system integrates an Arduino Uno microcontroller, RFID technology, proximity sensors, motor driver circuits, and conveyor belt mechanisms to perform real-time product detection and identification. An IR sensor detects the presence of a product on the conveyor belt, after which the RFID reader scans the unique product ID tag without physical contact. The Arduino controller processes the obtained data and automatically controls conveyor movement and sorting gates according to predefined conditions. The system also provides real-time status indication through display units and LEDs, while optional cloud connectivity enables data monitoring and inventory management. The developed system reduces manual intervention, improves identification accuracy, and enhances material handling efficiency. The proposed solution is cost-effective, reliable, and suitable for small- and medium-scale industries supporting Industry 4.0 automation concepts.
