abstract = {The reliability of low-voltage AC distribution networks is critical for ensuring uninterrupted power supply to residential and small commercial consumers. Overhead conductors in these networks are highly vulnerable to breakage due to environmental factors such as strong winds, falling trees, corrosion, and mechanical wear. Traditional fault detection methods are often expensive, slow, or ineffective in accurately identifying conductor breakage, especially in rural and semi-urban areas. This project proposes the development of a cost-effective and efficient solution for detecting the breakage of low-voltage AC distribution overhead conductors. The system utilizes affordable sensing components, such as current and voltage sensors, integrated with a microcontroller-based monitoring unit. By continuously analyzing line parameters, the system can quickly identify abnormal conditions that indicate a conductor breakage. Upon detection, the system triggers an alert mechanism, which may include visual indicators, alarms, or remote notifications using wireless communication technologies such as GSM or IoT platforms.},
