Formulation and Evaluation of Alovera enriched anti-aging face cream

  • This study focuses on the formulation and evaluation of an Aloe vera-enriched anti-ageing face cream prepared using herbal and pharmaceutical ingredients. Aloe vera is widely recognised for its moisturising, antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and collagen-stimulating properties, making it an effective natural ingredient for anti-ageing skincare formulations. The cream was formulated by the emulsification method using Aloe vera gel, stearic acid, cetyl alcohol, beeswax, liquid paraffin, glycerin, vitamin E, triethanolamine, methyl paraben, rose oil, and distilled water. The prepared formulation was evaluated for various physicochemical and cosmetic parameters, including pH, viscosity, spread ability, homogeneity, washability, irritancy, and stability. The results demonstrated that the cream possessed smooth consistency, pleasant appearance, easy spread ability, suitable pH (5.4), and good stability at room temperature. No irritation or phase separation was observed during evaluation. The presence of Aloe vera and vitamin E significantly contributed to hydration, antioxidant activity, collagen support, and skin protection. The study concludes that the formulated herbal cream is safe, stable, effective, and suitable for topical anti-ageing applications.
