abstract = {Sustainability has become an important focus in modern interior design due to increasing environmental concerns and the depletion of natural resources. Today, designers are not only focused on aesthetics and functionality but also on selecting materials that have less impact on the environment. Mosaic tiles, which were traditionally known for their decorative and artistic qualities, are now being used as sustainable surface materials using recycled glass, ceramic waste, reclaimed stone, and energy efficient production methods.
This research explores sustainable mosaic tiles as an innovative and practical material for interior spaces. It studies their historical background, material composition, design flexibility, and various applications. Mosaic tiles have been used for centuries in temples, palaces, and residential spaces because of their durability and ability to create detailed patterns. In modern interiors, they are commonly used in kitchens, bathrooms, feature walls, and commercial spaces. The study also highlights the environmental benefits of sustainable mosaic tiles, such as reducing waste, lowering carbon emissions, and promoting the reuse of materials. Along with being eco-friendly, these tiles are durable, water resistant, and easy to maintain. They also offer a wide variety of colors, shapes, and patterns, allowing designers to create unique and personalized designs.
However, some challenges are also considered, including higher initial costs, lack of awareness, and the need for proper installation skills. Even with these limitations, sustainable mosaic tiles provide long term advantages in terms of durability, maintenance, and environmental impact. Overall, this research aims to promote sustainable mosaic tiles as a responsible and creative material choice in interior design, encouraging eco-friendly practices while maintaining both functionality and visual appeal.},
