  • Abstract:
  • Principles of cybersecurity, like availability, confidentiality, and integrity, are essential for protecting the travel and tourism sector from the increasing number of cyberattacks. Protecting sensitive data, including booking records, payment information, and traveller data, is essential as the tourism industry moves more and more toward digitalization. The principles of availability make sure systems and information are available when needed, integrity preserve data accuracy, and confidentiality guarantee that personal data is accessible only to authorized parties. In order to prevent assaults such as phishing, identity theft, and data breaches, these principles are essential. Artificial intelligence (AI) has revolutionized the tourism sector by providing individualized services, elevating client experiences, and increasing operational effectiveness. Chatbots, virtual assistants, and recommendation engines are examples of AI solutions that help automate customer service, forecast travel trends, and customize services according to user preferences. Additionally, pricing plans, marketing campaigns, and resource management are all optimized with the use of AI-driven analytics, which promotes improved decision-making. However, new cybersecurity issues are brought about by the growing usage of AI. Cyberattacks may target AI systems, and if they are not well secured, they may mistakenly reveal private data or provide attackers access to larger networks. Protecting the integrity of tourism operations requires making sure AI tools adhere to cybersecurity principles. To summarize, a strong cybersecurity framework that includes AI-specific protections is necessary to control risks and take advantage of the advantages AI offers the travel and tourism sector. Innovation and security must coexist in order to provide smooth service delivery and defence against new online threats.
