  • Abstract:
  • Voting is a very crucial process all over the world, but it can be very hard for older people, people with disabilities, and NRI citizens, especially migrant workers, to get to their designated polling place. Traditional methods of manual verification are also susceptible to identity theft, impersonation, and other security risks. This study introduces an online voting system that enables voters to authenticate their ballots remotely via biometric facial recognition technology. This system brings forth a secure web application that utilizes face recognition by applying machine learning techniques and employs encrypted voting through XAMPP, PHP, Python, and MySQL. A facial authentication process reduces impersonation, and the data management process ensures that each registered voter is permitted to cast only one vote per election. It provides an alternative means of access to elections, increasing the level of security and reducing the physical costs associated with the current election system. This paper presents the system design and methodology, and further dives into the technical architecture and eventual large-scale deployment for India.
