        abstract = {The establishment of CDEICs in India was a step towards realising the dream of early identification and intervention of children with disabilities. This is a flagship program which encapsulates 28 CDEICs at various National Institutes and Composite Regional Centres under the aegis of the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities, MSJ&E. These centres are equipped to provide identification, therapeutic, counselling and school readiness services under the same roof and boast the involvement of parents as the primary stakeholders.
This research aimed to evaluate the efficacy of these services in addressing developmental delays and supporting children’s holistic growth. A comparative study was also conducted to examine the shift in perspectives of parents who had enrolled their children in the CDEIC at its inception and three years later. This research states the effectiveness of these services in addressing developmental delays and supporting children’s holistic growth. The population for the study included 85 participants, comprising parents of children availing of services at CDEIC, Mumbai. A mixed-method approach was used to combine quantitative data collected through a structured rating scale and qualitative insights from focus group discussions. Statistical data analysis provided an evidence-based understanding of the services’ impact and identified areas for improvement.
Findings from this research will help to inform policymakers and practitioners about parental satisfaction, perceived outcomes, and recommendations for enhancing service delivery. By integrating parental perspectives, the study also underscores the critical role of stakeholder feedback in refining early intervention programs, ultimately contributing to the betterment of services for children with disabilities in India.},
