abstract = {In modern buildings, elevators are essential for vertical transportation. However, conventional elevator systems require users to press buttons for floor selection, which can lead to hygiene issues due to frequent physical contact. This paper presents a touchless elevator floor selection system using proximity sensors and a Programmable Logic Controller (PLC).
The proposed system detects the presence of a user’s hand using proximity sensors placed near floor selection panels. The detected signal is transmitted to the PLC, which processes the input using ladder logic programming and activates the corresponding floor selection mechanism. This system eliminates physical contact, thereby improving hygiene and reducing the risk of infection transmission. The system is reliable, cost-effective, and suitable for implementation in public environments such as hospitals, malls, and offices.},
