abstract = {Totemism is a belief system, found in traditional societies, establishing a spiritual kinship between a clan and a specific natural object, usually an animal or plant, known as a “totem”. Totemism and magico-religious beliefs play a crucial role in conservation of biodiversity and natural resources. We also observed this, while studying the tribal life style of the study area and their routine activities, that totemism and magico-religious beliefs help in conserving the surrounding biodiversity of tribal region. Documentation of totemic beliefs of all ethnic groups is very essential for identifying plants which are under conservation and protection of the plant wealth and wild life by tribes.},
