abstract = {There have been prominent improvements in threat detection, prevention, and mitigation since artificial intelligence (AI) was involved in security systems. But this enlargement also brings up important privacy and ethical issues. Examining the dual nature of AI-based security, this review paper highlights the possible mishandling of AI in cybersecurity as well as ethical problem and data privacy concerns. This topic is important because of growing dependence on AI-driven security solutions, which improve cyber defenses but also generate limitations that bad players could take advantage of. Automated phishing, Deepfake threats, and adversarial learning are examples of AI-driven cyberattacks that put current security frameworks to the test. AI-based surveillance systems also give rise to doubt about unauthorized monitoring, biased decision-making, and huge data collection. The main challenges are analyzed critically in this paper, the key challenges, counting data privacy risks, AI model transparency in automated security decisions, and supervisory gaps. Through a wide analysis of recent research including case studies on AI-motivated cyber-attacks and defense mechanisms this paper provides insights into the ethical responsibilities of AI developers and cybersecurity professionals. Our results demonstrate the critical need for improved legal frameworks to achieve ethical AI governance, transparent AI algorithms and strike compromise between security and privacy. The creation of explainable AI models, privacy-preserving AI methods, and global policy frameworks to allay ethical worries are some prospects. By proactively tracking these issues, AI-based security can be created to improve safety while upholding moral values and individual liberties.},
