The Chatbot Revolution: Challenges and Opportunities in Education

  • Chatbots are increasingly being adopted in the field of education to provide academic support, enhance learning experience, and improve accessibility of information. The present study focuses on examining the challenges and opportunities associated with the use of chatbots in education and evaluates their effectiveness and impact across different levels of study. The study also identifies the factors influencing the perceived impact of chatbots in educational settings. Primary data was collected from students across undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral levels using a structured questionnaire consisting of statements related to effectiveness, challenges, awareness, and usage of chatbots. Reliability analysis confirmed high internal consistency of the scale. ANOVA results revealed that there is a significant difference in the effectiveness and impact of chatbots among different levels of study. Further, regression analysis indicated that perceived effectiveness and awareness significantly predict the impact of chatbots in education. The findings suggest that chatbot implementation strategies should be designed considering level-specific academic needs and awareness levels to maximize their educational impact. The study contributes to understanding the role of chatbots in enhancing academic support and highlights the need for customized chatbot deployment in education.
