Focus Shield Intelligent Website Blocking System for Productivity Enhancement

  • Digital distraction has become a major issue among students and professionals due to continuous use of social media platforms and entertainment websites [2]. Excessive internet usage affects concentration, time management, and productivity levels during study or work sessions [4]. This paper presents the design and development of Focus Shield, an intelligent website blocking system developed for productivity enhancement and distraction control [1]. The system allows users to block distracting websites while activating a focused work environment [5]. The proposed system is developed using Python Flask for backend processing along with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript for frontend implementation [3]. SQLite database is used for storing user information and focus session details [6]. The system helps users maintain concentration by restricting access to predefined websites during active focus sessions [7]. Focus Shield also records session duration and productivity data for monitoring user performance [4]. The paper explains the design, implementation, and testing of the system and highlights its role in improving digital discipline and productivity management among students and working professionals.
