        abstract = {The present work studies the encapsulation and processing of an herbal syrup containing the synergistic active principles of Tulsi (Ocimum tenuiflorum) and Lemon (Citrus limon). Holy basil also known as Tulsi is popular medicinal plant known for its medicinal effects such as antiinflammatories, antioxidants and antimicrobials. Lemon has revitalising taste as well as a good source of vitamin C and flavinoids (antioxidants).
The method involves the isolation of active plant compounds from Tulsi leaves and from lemon zest by using a suitable solvent extraction method for each material. These extracts are then mixed in a certain ratio to improve the synergistic effects; and the composition is determined for each finished material, taking in account factors such as pH, viscosity and stability.
Additionally, we perform sensory evaluations to determine if the syrup is acceptable and palatable to potential consumers by testing taste, aroma and general consumer preference using structured surveys and taste panels.
The proposed research studies the formulation of herbal syrup, which incorporates medicinal properties of Tulsi and Lemon for the purpose of manufacturing a safe natural resource that can be used by the health-conscious people who are looking for the support of immunity, antioxidant protection and wellness purposes. The designed study plan has the potential that the pipelined findings can be used to devise new herbal preparation which amalgamates traditional human wisdom with scientific evidence for its acceptance in today’s market for natural health products.},
