abstract = {Background: The study clearly demonstrates the efficacy of abdominal exercises and pelvic floor muscles exercises in postpartum women with diastasis recti. It is a comparative approach in convention to the research.
Objective
1. To estimate the effect of abdominal exercises on postpartum women with diastasis recti abdominis
2. To estimate the effect of pelvic floor exercises on postpartum women with diastasis recti abdominis
Research Methodology:
Study design- comparative study
Study setting- Guru Nanak Dev Hospital Amritsar
Population and Sampling
Total 42 patients are taken that are diagnosed with the diastasis recti abdominis meeting the inclusion criteria will be enrolled for the study. The purpose and procedure of the study will be explained to them and their informed consent will be taken. The subjects will be divided randomly in two Groups [A-21] and [B-21].
Results: Both groups showed significant improvement in terms of inter recti distance in patients with diastasis recti abdominis. But group A showed better result as compared to group B. In the present study, within group analysis showed reduction in inter recti distance which was statistically significant in both the groups (p<0.01) whereas the between group analysis revealed that Group A was highly significant (p<0.01) as compared to Group B.
Conclusion: Both groups statistically showed significant responses to their interventions. Abdominal exercises were found to be more effective than pelvic floor muscles exercises to reduce the inter recti distance in patients with diastasis recti abdominis in post-partum women.},
