An Integrated Smart Health Management System for Real-Time Rural Healthcare Monitoring

  • Healthcare accessibility remains a critical concern in rural and remote regions due to inadequate medical infrastructure, limited availability of healthcare professionals, and difficulties associated with long-distance travel. These challenges frequently lead to delayed diagnosis, ineffective disease management, and poor overall health outcomes, particularly among elderly individuals and patients requiring continuous medical supervision. To address these issues, this paper proposes an integrated smart healthcare management system for real-time rural health monitoring and remote medical assistance. The proposed framework combines advanced technologies such as the Internet of Things (IoT), Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), Cloud Computing, and Blockchain to provide efficient, secure, and intelligent healthcare services. Biomedical sensors are utilized to continuously monitor vital physiological parameters including heart rate, respiration rate, blood pressure, body temperature, and blood glucose levels. The acquired data are transmitted in real time to cloud-based platforms, where AI and ML techniques are employed for health analysis, abnormality detection, and predictive healthcare support. The overall system contributes toward enhanced healthcare delivery, improved patient outcomes, and better quality of life, with particular emphasis on elderly healthcare management.
