abstract = {The IoT-based Smart Waste Bin Monitoring System is an efficient and smart solution developed to improve waste management in urban and public areas. Traditional waste collection methods often result in overflowing bins and inefficient monitoring. To solve this problem, the proposed system uses Internet of Things (IoT) technology for real-time monitoring of garbage levels.
The system is designed using an ultrasonic sensor and an ESP32 microcontroller. The ultrasonic sensor detects the level of waste present inside the bin, while the ESP32 processes the data and transmits it through wireless communication for remote monitoring. When the garbage level reaches a predefined limit, the system sends an alert notification to the concerned authorities for timely waste collection. This reduces manual inspection, prevents overflow of waste bins, and improves cleanliness and hygiene.
The proposed system is cost-effective, energy-efficient, and suitable for smart city applications such as colleges, hospitals, railway stations, and residential areas. It helps in achieving efficient waste management and promotes a cleaner and healthier environment.},
