abstract = {The global food crisis is defined by a staggering paradox: nearly one-third of all food produced for human consumption is lost or wasted, while millions of individuals in orphanages and underserved communities face chronic food insecurity. In urban environments, large-scale commercial entities such as hotels and supermarkets are the primary contributors to this surplus, yet the lack of a synchronized recovery infrastructure means this food typically ends up in landfills, contributing significantly to methane emissions. Since stakeholders seldom have the logistical means to transport perishables within the narrow window of safety, the most significant challenge in combating hunger is the absence of a "last-mile" digital connection. There are currently no proven, integrated platforms that provide real-time visibility for surplus food, making efficient redistribution virtually impossible for the average NGO. We aim to identify systemic inefficiencies in existing donation loops and characterize the effects of automated matchmaking on the stability of food supply chains. This will be accomplished through the mining and analysis of regional surplus data using the Footprint Chain architecture—a tech-driven framework that employs various computational analyses to correlate between donor frequency, geographic proximity, and the caloric requirements of recipient organizations. We hypothesize that by removing the friction of manual communication, we can create a seamless flow of resources that mimics a commercial supply chain, and therefore may explain why digital intervention is the most significant risk-mitigation factor in modern food recovery. Our preliminary modeling indicates that a centralized, geofenced notification system can improve redistribution speed by 60%, ensuring that high-protein, perishable meals reach children in orphanages before spoilage occurs. We hope that our findings may eventually contribute to the development of better urban sustainability policies and robust diagnostic tools for monitoring community health, thereby improving the long-term nutritional prognosis for vulnerable populations and establishing a blueprint for a zero-hunger future.},
