abstract = {A field experiment was conducted in experimental farm of College of Agriculture, Tripura during Rabi season 2023-2024 to investigate the effect of bio-control agents and phosphorus doses on growth and yield performance chickpea (Cicer arietinum L.). The experiment was laid out in split plot design with three replications and sixteen treatments consisting of four levels of bio-control agents in main plot (No inoculation, Pseudomonas fluorescens inoculation, Trichoderma harzianum inoculation and combined inoculation of Pseudomonas fluorescens and Trichoderma harzianum) and four levels of phosphorus in sub plot (No phosphorus, 40 kg P2O5 ha-1, 60 kg P2O5 ha-1 and 80 kg P2O5 ha-1). The results of the experiment indicated that the combined application of bio-control agents with phosphorus doses significantly influence the growth and yield of chickpea. In the treatment combination of bio-control agents (Pseudomonas fluorescens and Trichoderma harzianum) with phosphorus dose 80 kg P2O5 ha-1 recorded maximum growth performance such as plant height (47.48 cm), number of primary (7.48) and secondary branches (10.91), dry matter accumulation (631.88 g m-2), crop growth rate (8.56 gm-2 day-1) and yield attributes such as no. of pods per plant (22), seed yield (1186.3 kg ha-1), stover yield (1888.1 kg ha-1) and harvest index (38.81%) respectively. Growth parameters and yield attributes showed equivalent result in treatment combination of bio-control agents with phosphorus doses 60 kg P2O5 ha-1. So best treatment identified in the study was the combination of bio-control agents (Pseudomonas fluorescens and Trichoderma harzianum) with a phosphorus dose 60 kg P2O5 ha-1, which significantly enhanced chickpea growth and yield respectively.},
