Shadowscan: Ioc-Free Intrusion Detection System Using Machine Learning and Natural Language Processing Insights

  • Shadow Scan protects a network from attacks using behaviour rather than known vectors or signatures. This system is also used to extract information by monitoring the flow of traffic continuously, converting raw data into structured and semi-structured forms, then utilizing machine learning techniques combined with language processing done on those data sets in order to identify behavior patterns within them. One of the examples is to identify a port scan or traffic flood which traditional systems would not be able to detect due on their ground knowledge about threats. Shadow Scan is based on behaviour, not vectors or signatures and shields your network from attack. A system like this still allows us to gather insights by -- following traffic at all times when high volume of transactions is happening, parsing raw data into structured and semi-structured formats (sql & nosql), applying ml techniques with language processing on such datasets to find behavior patterns among them. One of the examples is identifying a port scan or traffic flood which traditional systems would miss due to their ground-level knowledge about threats.
