  • Abstract:
  • Artificial Intelligence (AI) has significantly transformed the way humans interact with computers, and one of its most impactful applications is the intelligent voice-based system. This paper presents the design and implementation of a desktop-based AI Voice Assistant capable of performing tasks through speech interaction. The assistant captures voice commands through a microphone, converts speech into text using Speech Recognition, processes the command through basic keyword-based Natural Language Processing (NLP), and generates a spoken response through a Text-to-Speech (TTS) engine. The system is developed in Python using the Speech Recognition, pyttsx3, web browser, os, and datetime libraries, and is able to open websites, tell date and time, play music, search online content, and respond to predefined queries in a continuous listening loop. Testing shows the assistant performs reliably with minimal response delay in low-noise environments. The paper also outlines the system architecture, working methodology, and possible future enhancements such as machine learning-based intent detection, multilingual support, and IoT integration.
