Design and Implementation Of A University Resource Booking And Management System In Nigeria.

  • This study addresses the inefficiencies in managing and booking university resources caused by manual or fragmented systems by developing a centralized web-based platform for real-time resource allocation and scheduling. Using a structured development approach, the system was built with React, Express.js, and PostgreSQL within a three-tier architecture to ensure scalability and performance. The resulting system allows students, lecturers, and administrators to easily view availability, make bookings, and receive immediate feedback, while also enabling administrators to oversee and control resource usage. Findings show that the system reduces scheduling conflicts, minimizes delays, and improves overall efficiency in resource management. Ultimately, it provides a reliable and user-friendly solution that enhances academic planning, with future improvements recommended to include mobile support, AI-driven scheduling, and integrated notification systems.
