        abstract = {The need to make use of innovative approaches to obtain and use information has become a necessity due to the growing need for user-centered services in the library. This paper critically looks at how human intelligence (HUMINT) and social media monitoring can be used to improve competitive intelligence (CI) procedures in academic libraries. The study adopts an exploratory methodology by summarizing previous research that has been done between 2019-2025 and it suggests a conceptual framework that merges or combines both the human and social media intelligence sources. The study argues that integrating HUMINT and social media monitoring can help academic libraries anticipate user needs and improve service delivery and maintain their competitiveness in a quick-changing information environment by inputting interpersonal skills with real-time digital insights. The study contributes to the library and information profession by providing a structured and systematic framework for combining both HUMINT and social media monitoring sources into strategic services design.},
