  • Abstract:
  • Background: Tooth-supported overdentures preserve alveolar bone and proprioception while improving prosthesis retention and stability. Customizable ball attachments offer a cost-effective alternative to prefabricated systems. Objective: To systematically evaluate the effectiveness of customizable ball attachments in tooth-supported overdentures. Methods: Relevant in vitro and clinical studies were reviewed following predefined selection criteria. Results: Customizable ball attachments demonstrated satisfactory retention, stability, masticatory efficiency, patient satisfaction, and preservation of supporting tissues, although maintenance requirements varied. Conclusion: Customizable ball attachments represent a reliable, economical, and conservative treatment option for appropriately selected patients requiring tooth-supported overdentures.
