abstract = {Common hair conditions that have a detrimental impact on the health of the scalp and the appearance of hair include dandruff and hair loss. Interest in herbal shampoos is rising as people become more conscious of the negative effects of synthetic shampoos. In this study, Mucuna pruriens and Cyperus scariosus (Nagarmatha) were combined with other medicinal herbs like Reetha, Shikakai, Amla, Hibiscus, Bhringraj, Henna, Onion, and Orange Peel to create, standardize, and assess a polyherbal anti-dandruff and hair growth powder shampoo. The organoleptic properties, flow characteristics, physicochemical parameters, foaming ability, washability, stability, and safety of three formulations (F1, F2, and F3) were prepared and assessed. With pH values between 5.11 and 5.90, all formulations showed acceptable color, odor, texture, and flow characteristics, making them appropriate for scalp application. The formulations demonstrated moderate to good foaming qualities, good washability, satisfactory cleansing action, and no indications of skin or eye irritation. With the highest foaming index (250), the shortest wetting time (92 s), and better hair manageability after washing, F3 outperformed the other tested formulations. Studies on stability verified that the formulations did not change while being stored. The results indicate that for managing dandruff and encouraging healthy hair growth, the developed polyherbal powder shampoo is a safe, efficient, affordable, and environmentally friendly substitute for synthetic shampoos.},
