abstract = {Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) are the backbone of the Indian economy. They contribute significantly to employment generation, industrial production, exports, and GDP growth. The Government of India has introduced several schemes such as Udyam Registration, PMEGP, MUDRA Loans, and Digital India initiatives to strengthen MSMEs. Despite these efforts, MSMEs continue to face challenges like inadequate finance, lack of skilled manpower, technological limitations, and market competition. This article examines the contribution of MSMEs to India's economic development and highlights the opportunities and challenges faced by the sector. The study concludes with suggestions to improve the sustainability and competitiveness of MSMEs.},
