abstract = {In the contemporary digital economy, data has emerged as a critical organizational asset, making its secure, efficient, and seamless migration a strategic imperative. This research paper presents a comprehensive analysis of the role of database administration in the success of data migration projects, with a specific focus on Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) Pvt. Ltd. The study examines how database administrators (DBAs) contribute to various phases of the migration lifecycle, including planning, execution, and post-migration optimization. Utilizing a mixed-methods approach combining qualitative interviews with quantitative survey data from TCS professionals, the research investigates the relationship between effective database administration practices and the reduction of project risks such as downtime, data loss, and cost overruns. The analysis reveals that robust database administration significantly enhances project success rates by ensuring data integrity, minimizing business disruption, and optimizing performance in cloud and hybrid environments. By integrating theoretical frameworks with empirical evidence, including findings from TCS engagements such as the Equifax UK modernisation and the Air France-KLM cloud transformation, this paper concludes that database administration is not merely a support function but a strategic enabler of data-driven business value. The study provides valuable insights for IT professionals and organizational leaders seeking to leverage data migration for competitive advantage.},
