  • Abstract:
  • Novel therapeutic compounds derived from traditional medicinal flora must be identified and validated immediately because to the growing worldwide concern about antibiotic resistance. In this work, the agar diffusion method was used to investigate the antibacterial activity of several solvent extracts of Ipomoea palmate against Escherichia coli, Staphylococcus aureus, and Pseudomonas aeruginosa. Among all the examined species, Ipomoea palmate's 50% ethanolic extract showed the strongest antibacterial activity. Using the agar diffusion technique, several solvent extracts of Ipomoea palmate were evaluated for antibacterial activity against Escherichia coli (90 µg/ml), Staphylococcus aureus (68 µg/ml), and Pseudomonas aeruginosa (102 µg/ml), and they shown significant action. Out of all the examined species, Ipomoea palmate's 50% ethanolic extract showed the strongest antibacterial activity. Gentamicin, a common antibacterial drug, was used to compare the outcomes.
