Abstract
This research paper deals withdesign and analysis ofmelter (oven) for Polyurethene Elastomer casting machine. The aim of monitoring performance of melter was to control the heat rate and minimize the wastage of heat by providing proper insulating material and calculations required to enhance melter performance. The temperature inside melter is created by electric heater and kept constant with the help of PID Controller. Hot air responsible for melting elastomer was carried with the help of forced convection by using centrifugal blower. The CAD models of the components were made using CATIA and the CFD analysis is done using ANSYS Workbench. This research examines through CFD visualization how air is distributed within a melter. CFD simulations were carried out and the results enabled detailed analysis and visualization of spatial distribution of airflow patterns and the effect of different parameters to be predicted.
