A Review of Poor HR Analytical Skills

Abstract
Organizations today are increasingly becoming globalized and facing vulnerability, uncertainty, complexity and ambiguity in the business environment. Under such conditions, making the right decisions and sustaining competitive advantage are the goals of any organization. Business analytics has emerged as an important tool to address these goals. Research literature and reports suggest that application of analytics to manage human resources (HR) in an organization is minimal. In view of this, research is undertaken to study the current scenario of HR analytics in the Indian context and to identify factors that influence the acceptance of analytics among HR professionals. HR analytics supports data interpretation to recognize trends and take corrective measures for profitable functioning of business. Organizations strive for more innovative business practices to improve efficiency and HR analytics has the highest impact on organizational success. The paper highlights how the business analytics provides a multi–dimensional approach towards building effective HR strategies.And emphasizes on how bad data would lead to poor HR analytics as this paper also discusses the results of qualitative phase which is based on interviews conducted among HR professionals.
