Abstract
Introducing technology in the field of education can influence and inspire students to learn actively and contribute to a successful learning process. Existing researches have shown that if technology, used in education does not promote critical thinking, a sense of understanding, and metacognition, it can lead to passive learning. Augmented reality is an advanced technology that can make the user interact with virtual and real-time applications and offers a gain in natural experiences. The use of augmented reality in education has attracted a lot of researches recently as it allows the students to be engrossed in realistic interactions. Thereby, this research reviews and summarizes the researches are done on augmented reality in the field of education. The paper reviews the feasibility of the said technology in different fields of education, merits of augmented reality concerning education, advantages and applications of augmented reality in education.
